Bugsy memorial
Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at about 4:15 a.m. Bugsy died. Bugsy was 8 years and 9 months old. That is almost 69 years old in human years. I believe his heart might have been the problem. At a recent doctor visit the veterinarian said that Bugsy had an arrhythmia. Throughout Bugsy's doctor visits no other vet had told me this. He was his normal loving, fun, frisky self and was eating, drinking and going to the bathroom normally until the morning he passed away.

The Prince.
Bugsy lived in Palm Bay and Cape Canaveral, FL and Las Vegas and Pahrump, Nevada. He traveled across the U.S. several times and loved the attention from meeting new people and animals from Florida to California. He met practically every one of our friends and family members and stayed at many of your homes while on holiday. And I thank you all for accommodating Bugsy over the years.
Jason's brother, Todd, was visiting and tiling our house. Around 4:35 a.m. Todd found Bugsy lying by the sliding glass door and he was still warm. Todd made a little gravestone and Bugsy is buried under one of our olive trees in the backyard.

Bugsy as a bun bun. The next two pictures are of Bugsy sitting on the banana palm stump eating the banana leaves.
He loved eating a bit of banana with his mommy every morning. He loved hanging out in his backyard every morning and every evening. When Jason and I would sit down to watch a movie I would always hold Bugsy in my lap. In the last month Jason and I would lie down in the lounge chairs and look up at the stars. I would put Bugsy on my chest and rub his little face, and slowly but surely his hind legs would relax to each side of my stomach and his head would collapse under my chin. A couple of times when I walked in the backyard in the dark I would call him because I couldn't see him and he would run up to me, so I know that he really enjoyed these moments. I wish I had acted quicker on getting a picture of this, as it showed his sweet love and the bond he had for me.

Bugsy spent quite a bit of time in California. These are just a few pictures from our most recent trip from Paso Robles to San Francisco. He totally got into relaxing at the Main Street Park in Paso Robles. Afterwards, he partied with thousands of people at the annual Paso Robles Concerts in the Park and checked out the farmer's market that evening too. Bugsy got his picture taken at many veritable vegetable paradises while traveling, but was not given the opportunity of eating an acre in an hour. However, he chowed down on the artichoke from Castroville, "The Artichoke Center of the World".

When we traveled with Bugsy Jason and I would take him out for a run every evening. He would meet lots of new animals and the kids loved him.

Those really neat chairs in the river underneath the trees at the Big Sur River Inn was a hit with Bugsy too. San Fransisco was great for Bugsy as it is cool all the time and the parks have lots of grass for him to run in. As you can see he especially liked posing in front of the Golden Gate Bridge. Poor Bugsy, he looks like he ate too many Chardonnay and Merlot grapes.

This is one of my favorite pictures. After cleaning and getting a face rub by daddy, Bugsy is ready to check out the central coast of California.
I thank the Lord for our little bundle of fuzzy joy and am glad that we were able to give him the most posh, house-rabbit lifestyle that any Lagomorpha would desire. He was the best pet rabbit Jason and I could have asked for since he handled traveling and change like a little trooper. Our little bun bun will be missed terribly.
