RV Cancer Trip

RV Cancer Trip is called Miles of Hope. Liam was almost 3 years old when he was diagnosed with Leukemia, like 200,000 children a year diagnosed with cancer

in the world. Now that Liam is 8 and has been out of treatment for two years, we decided to show him the world and carry out our share with the means we have in the fight against cancer. Our journey will last three years, as much as Liam's therapy did. It will take him to over 60 countries in the world and holds the objective of heightening diagnosis awareness.

With four children to think about, impulsiveness could not have been part of the voyage. It took years of latent contemplation of the project before we agreed to give it serious consideration. Since that first shivering giant leap, we have carefully weighted the issues of safety, finances, impact on school work, severing of emotional bonds, etc., and here we stand today: dotted map hanged on the wall of the family-room, travel guides spread out on our desks, figures and numbers rechecked, the latest googled-data downloaded, minds clouded with fine points, but…determined! The reading of other travelers with children helped us make our decision and comfort us everyday in that choice

Our journey will start in June 2008 with North America and then will head to Central and South America for ten months. We will then embark a cargo to Australia where we intend to sojourn three months and then make our way up to Asia and Russia the next nine months. The last year will take us all over Europe and in some countries of Africa.

Four times a year, we will send a summary of our adventures, sprinkled with games, interviews, audio and video files, etc. You can subscribe to our journal for $20 per year or $50 for the 3 years.
